Healing isn’t about fixing yourself — it’s about unlearning the idea that you were broken in the first place.
Learn to understand your mind, make sense of your experience, and harness your strengths with a neuro affirming therapist who intimately understands the neurodivergent experience.
Meet Nehemiah | Neuro Affirming Therapist in Lakewood, CO
Diversity is part of a healthy, functioning society. When different ways of thinking, feeling, and being are labeled as a mental health disorder — it’s a symptom of a sick culture, not a broken person.
Ready to unlearn the harmful messages you've internalized and step into a way of living that actually works for you?
Hi, I'm Nehemiah!
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Certified ADHD Specialist & Certified Sex Informed Therapy Professional
Through my own experience with adult onset ADHD, I know how painful it is to feel disconnected from the world around you.
I became a neuro affirming therapist because I saw how often neurodivergent folks were misunderstood in traditional therapy.
Many of my clients tell me they’ve had past therapists who didn’t ‘get it’ — who framed ADHD as a disorder to be fixed rather than a brain difference to be understood. Well I beg to differ.
Whether you’re navigating adult onset ADHD, complex trauma, or mixed-neurotype relationships, my role is to walk alongside you as an ally and guide, helping you find the tools, support, and community you deserve. You're gonna like it here.
"Know all the theories, master all the techniques, but as you touch a human soul, be just another human soul."
— Carl Jung
Traditional therapy tends to focus on the individual—what’s “wrong” with you and how to “fix” it. But what if the real issue isn’t you at all? What if your struggles make perfect sense in the context of the world you live in?
CLEARING CLOUDS — A NEURODIVERSITY AFFIRMING PRACTICE
If you couldn't tell already, I don’t see neurodivergence as something that needs to be fixed. And I don't see trauma as something that makes you broken.
What some professionals call your "symptoms" are just adaptations—your mind’s logical way of making sense of, and surviving, the environments you’ve had to navigate.
Yep, you heard it here first folks.
When we work together, we won’t focus on what’s “wrong” with you, because nothing's wrong with you. What we will do is explore your experiences, make meaning out of them, and help you move toward healing in a way that makes you excited to get out into the world with that beautifully unique brain of yours.
That’s where my approach comes in.
I earned my Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy in Philadelphia—the birthplace of this holistic approach to therapy.
Unlike traditional individual therapy, which often focuses solely on personal struggles, Marriage and Family Therapy takes a broader view.
It looks at how the systems around us—family dynamics, cultural expectations, institutions—shape our experiences, behaviors, and survival strategies. Makes a lot more sense doesn't it?!

FAQ’s
Have Questions?
Q: How do I find a neurodivergent therapist near me?
If you're looking for a therapist who understands neurodivergence, you’re in the right place. Clearing Clouds is a neurodiversity-affirming practice that specializes in ADHD, complex trauma, and neurodivergent couples. I offer virtual therapy across Colorado and in-person sessions in Lakewood and the Front Range.
Q: What is a neuro-affirming therapist?
A neuro-affirming therapist recognizes that neurodivergence—like ADHD and CPTSD—is a natural variation of the human brain, not a disorder to be "fixed." My approach is all about understanding ADHD in adults so you can work with your brain, not against it, and build confidence in how you move through the world.
Q: What is the best type of therapy for ADHD adults?
The best therapy for ADHD adults is one that honors how your brain works and provides practical strategies for sensory overload, emotional regulation, and self-acceptance. In my neurodiversity-affirming practice, I use a mix of psychoeducation, strengths-based strategies, and trauma-informed care to help you understand how your unique brain and nervous system work and apply that knowledge to your daily life.
